The Cynosure Apogee Elite is most optimal for:

By providing two different wavelengths, the Apogee Elite laser can be used to treat patients with all types of skin. The addition of the YAG laser allows us to treat patients of darker skin types for excessive hair growth, especially of the face, arm pits and bikini lines. We can also treat patients with pseudofolliculitis (razor bumps) on the beard or neck.
Laser Hair Treatment
How does Laser hair removal work?
To eliminate hair, the laser emits gentle pulses of energy that pass through the skin to the hair follicle. This energy is then absorbed into the hair follicle to destroy it so that hair can never grow there again.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
The treatment causes only minimal discomfort. Patients often say it feels similar to the snap of a rubber band. Slight redness or localized swelling can usually subsides within the first 24 hours after treatment.
How many treatments are required?
Typically patients will see results in 4-6 treatment, though this number will vary based upon skin tone, hair color and several other factors. Dr. Doan and our knowledgeable staff will talk to you about variables that may affect your individual results.
The Apogee Elite laser is also used to treat spider veins on the face or legs. Spider veins are actually dilated or stretched blood vessels that appear on the legs, not “broken” blood vessels, as is commonly believed. Their precise cause is unknown, but it is thought that heredity, excessive standing, weight gain, hormonal changes and pregnancy may be some of the causes.
Laser Vein Treatment
How does laser treatment work?
A cosmetic laser emits prescribed dose of energy to the vein. The laser “selectively” targets the problem veins while sparing surrounding areas. After treatment, the vessel will naturally disappear.
How many treatments are required?
Typically only one or two treatments are required and results can be seen in 3-4 weeks. Each treatment causes minimal discomfort, any redness or swelling should be gone within a day and you’ll be able to resume normal activities immediately.
The Apogee Elite laser also incorporates the use of the Smart Cool system by Cynosure. This system utilizes a “double cooling” technique which uses the body’s natural cooling process in conjunction with a specifically engineered external cooling system. The Smart Cool system is used with the laser to minimize patient discomfort during treatment.
